ศ.ดร.ปิยะสาร ประเสริฐธรรม Founding Director ของ CECC และ Competitve-track Professor ภาควิชาวิศวกรรมเคมี คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาฯ ได้ขึ้นรับตำแหน่ง President ของ Asia-Pacific Association of Catalysis Societies (APACS) คนที่ 7 ของสมาคมฯ

โดยสมาคม Asia-Pacific Association of Catalysis Societies นี้นั้นประกอบด้วยสมาชิกสมาคมตัวเร่งปฏิกิริยาในประเทศแถบเอเชียแปซิฟิก จำนวน 14 สมาคม
